Fitting Methods

Innovative Sclerals has introduced new scleral lens fitting techniques, breaking from the traditional complex methods.

The enhanced oxygen flux through gas permeable materials enables sealed instead of fenestrated designs as first choice, thereby significantly reducing the problems of bubbles behind lenses and settling back on the globe.

Varying the axial profile as a single parameter rather than finding a combination of the radius and optic diameter provides full control of the clearance from the cornea.

We have developed a fitting set with 18 lenses only, giving just clinically significant differences between lenses which enables the practitioner to deal with the great majority of cases likely to be encountered.

In fact we manufacture many variations to the basic types to accommodate variations in fitting occasionally encountered by the practitioner. In these instances we supply one or more extra fitting lenses to confirm the final lens of choice.
